COUNTY ROAD 250, SUWANNEE COUNTY, FLORIDA
Arc Surveying & Mapping, Inc performed a bathymetric and topographic survey of the Suwannee River, County Road 250 Bridge including the river shoreline for a FDOT bridge replacement project.
The contract required a full DTM of the river bottom and the heavily wooded shoreline 2500 feet each side of the CR 250 Bridge.
The river bottom and the heavily wooded shoreline 2500 feet each side of the CR 250 Bridge.
For this limited access project, Arc provided a shallow draft survey vessel equipped with RTK/GPS, POS/MV motion compensation, a survey grade dual frequency depth sounder and a high-resolution terrestrial laser scanner enabling both bathymetric and shoreline topographic data collection from the survey vessel.
The innovative surveying methods provided by Arc Surveying & Mapping, Inc. on the FDOT Bridge 250 replacement project were in compliance with FDOT District surveying and mapping standards and provided a substantial cost saving by eliminating shoreline ground crews.
Permanent horizontal and vertical control was established along the entire limits of the project per FDOT Survey Database Guidelines Manual Specifications.
